7 of Swords Meaning

  • Fixed / Aquarius
  • Tricky but potent card. This card appears when the individual has let their sword blade rust while having been lost in emotional pursuits. Imbalance is present – emotions override logic and reason. Theft of time and energy but it can also mean literal theft.
  • Card of failure but also theft. You’re getting away with something or someone else is. There is disingenuous energy around you; pay attention. 
  • An array of possibilities is reachable but there is deception or betrayal afoot. 
  • Do unto others as you would like done to you. 
  • Watch where you are going, focus on the present, not the past. 
  • Forgive yourself for mistakes made in the past and move on. Stay grounded and keep your head on straight; think before you act. 
  • If you are feeling indecisive, focus on the present moment in order to make a firm decision. Commit to finishing one thing before moving on to the next.

  • Fixed / Leo energy
  • The Heroes card. A struggle is not wanted but there is a need to fight (usually alone). You have to go through to get out of your situation. You will have the strength to do it. 
  • Stand up and do what is best for you. Don’t care who likes it or doesn’t like it. 
  • Healthy selfishness. Valor. A more aggressive and proactive energy. 
  • When it shows up it is telling you do to the right thing. Don’t talk about it, just do it. 
  • This card is closely related to the 3 of Wands.

  • Element – Water

  • Fixed / Scorpio energy
  • Possibilities, good and/or bad but these are pipe dreams and illusions. Pipe dreams may be clouding decisions. Being so caught in emotion not able to see things clearly.
  • Barking up the wrong tree, confused. Not sure which path. Need to root out what is impossible to accomplish. 
  • Escapism, addiction, abuse. Not seeing clearly by choice. 
  • Chicken Little syndrome. 
  • This card can also be about  turning a vision into reality (visualization, vision boards)

  • Waiting for the garden to grow. Failure from waiting too long – may need to plant something else. Is this desire worth the time and energy you are putting into it? 
  • Concern over financial loss or loss of health.
  • Can also mean having come so far on a project, but not feeling like what you have to show for it is equal to the amount of effort put into it.
