This post is intended to be a mini Ten of Pentacles Tarot Guide. It is important to mention that the longer you work with the cards the more you will discover how they speak to you. For example, the Ten of Pentacles does have a theme and traditional meaning but I recommend leaving “space” for the card to speak to you. Over time, you may discover that the card represents unique insights or themes for you personally.
Suit of Pentacles Summary

Numerology of the #10 – Themes
- The Number 10 is independent and has infinite potential. It also resonates with leadership, optimism, confidence, independence, creative powers, success, energy, originality, adaptability, determination and individuality.
- Positive energetics of the Number 10 – independence, infinite potential, wholeness, self-determination and exploration
- Negative energetics of the Number 10 – failing to see the potential in something and feeling unfulfilled. Feeling self-righteous, proud and arrogant.
Ten of Pentacles Tarot – Upright Meaning
- Represents the Earth, Mutable / Virgo energy
- The 10 of Pentacles represents good reputation, wealth, dynasty, financial security and stability. This card can also represent an inheritance or legacy.
- The querent is fulfilled, they are successful and prosperity surrounds them.
- A message that also goes with the 10 of Pentacles is being so busy that it’s not possible to take on any more.
- Additional keywords – The completion of a project, the end of a cycle leading to new places, a new opportunity is available, a gathering of multiple generations in a family.
- Questions to consider:
- Where in your life do you already feel abundant?
- How are you taking care of yourself?
- Reflect on your legacy – are there additional steps you can take to build wealth for yourself and future generations? Things take time – build step by step and allow others to help you.
- How are you contributing to making life better for those around you?
Shadow Side of the Ten of Pentacles
- The 10 of Pentacles reversed often represents disagreement within a group or family that is used to comfort and financial stability. This strife may be caused by financial problems or from having no satisfaction or appreciation of the wealth that currently exists. There is stoicism, coldness and lack of warmth in the home.
- Another interpretation is that the querent has been outcast or removed from the family legacy in some way. In this case, they must work hard to keep the family together because the whole is stronger than the individual parts.
- Question to consider:
- Do you feel unworthy of the opportunities that are being presented to you?
