Ten of Wands Tarot Guide

This post is intended to be a mini Ten of Wands Tarot Guide. It is important to mention that the longer you work with the cards the more you will discover how they speak to you. For example, the Ten of Wands does have a theme and traditional meaning but I recommend leaving “space” for the card to speak to you. Over time, you may discover that the card represents unique insights or themes for you personally.

Suit of Wands Summary

  • The Number 10 is independent and has infinite potential. It also resonates with leadership, optimism, confidence, independence, creative powers, success, energy, originality, adaptability, determination and individuality.
  • Positive energetics of the Number 10 – independence, infinite potential, wholeness, self-determination and exploration
  • Negative energetics of the Number 10 – failing to see the potential in something and feeling unfulfilled. Feeling self-righteous, proud and arrogant.

Ten of Wands Tarot – Upright Meaning

  • Associated with the Earth – Mutable / Sagittarius energy.
  • The querent is carrying a heavy load and they are able to handle it but it is preventing them from seeing the path before them. This leads to the querent being a bit confused about which direction to go. The load they are carrying is likely the burdens and problems of other people that they have made their own responsibility. The message is to let go of these responsibilities and prioritize their own.
  • This card can also represent finality whether good or bad. Accomplishment at a heavy price.
  • The struggle is real. Take a break. The querent may have the weight of the world on their back and that every decision they make has to be the correct one because there is no room for error.
  • The querent is feeling oppressed or restricted in some way because there is an extreme amount of pressure. But remember that it takes pressure to make a diamond.
  • The goal has been achieved. The cycle is complete. The current situation or project has gone as far as it can go. Accept this, appreciate what you have gained and embrace the things you have learned. Get ready for a new cycle to begin.

Shadow Side of the Ten of Wands

  • The querent is carrying a heavy burden and it is taking a toll. They know they have more than they can handle right now. The message is that they must prioritize ruthlessly. Do not focus on the little details of administrivia. The weight will be lifted when they are able to release their responsibilities and burdens. If they can’t do this, they will not reach their goal.
  • Questions to consider:
    • Are you feeling the weight of the world on your back?
    • Do you have poor boundaries and are saying “yes” to things to please others? If yes, how can you change this situation?
