This post is intended to be a mini Two of Wands Tarot Guide. It is important to mention that the longer you work with the cards the more you will discover how they speak to you. For example, the Two of Wands does have a theme and traditional meaning but I recommend leaving “space” for the card to speak to you. Over time, you may discover that the card represents unique insights or themes for you personally.

- Harmony and teamwork
- Mediation – being able to see both sides
Two of Wands Tarot – Upright Meaning
- Big ambitions – balance or gain in work, career or passion projects. The querent is not thinking small – they want the world.
- The early phase of the project will be successful though there may be a pause in forward progres. Innovative, artistic or scientific success.
- Choices but do not rush to make a decision. Make sure to get a forest view of the situation and consider all possibilities before deciding.
- The querent knows the next step and they should be discerning about who you share your plans with. It is also important to be intentional with planning the path forward.
- There is excitement about a new endeavor and it is important to be realistic. Protect your energy from others.
- This card often shows up when it is wise for the querent to stand in their own personal power, even if it means laying down boundaries to others. This card also means “owning it” as the common phrase states and thus can tell us when it is time to own who and what we are in an honest and direct way.
Shadow Side of the Two of Wands
- The querent may be falling short of the desired outcome or goal.
- There is the possibility that the aspirations the querent is pursuing are coming from the wrong intentions. Consider adjusting intentions to realize success.
- Two of Wands reversed could suggest that the querent is using the wrong approach. Review next steps carefully.
- In general, this card can represent a tension between the querent’s aspirations and what other people expect of them such as parents, family, or social network. There is no spirit of hostility, everyone means well but there is a difference in opinion.
- In career or passion projects, the two of wands reversed can indicate that the early work on a project started well but is not realizing the potential that the querent anticipated. This might be a result of acting too quickly without thoughtful planning, bad timing or just being impatient.
