What is the North Node in Astrology?

The North Node is the aspect of our astrological chart that guides us on our journey of self-discovery and spiritual evolution.

In astrology, the North Node is also known as the True Node or the “Dragon’s Head”. It is an important point in the astrological birth chart that represents your karmic path and spiritual evolution this lifetime. It symbolizes the path of our soul’s growth and the lessons we are meant to embrace in this lifetime. It is urging us to transcend our patterns from the past and embrace our higher purpose.

The North Node is always directly opposite the South Node, or the “Dragon’s Tail”. The North and South Nodes are not physical celestial bodies like the planets but they are calculated points in the chart based on the orbit of the Moon.

The North Node’s placement within our birth chart offers a roadmap for personal transformation and fulfillment. Each zodiac sign and house combination holds unique insights into the qualities we are called to cultivate and the areas of life where our greatest potential awaits.

For instance, an individual with the North Node in Aries may be tasked with embracing courage, independence, and self-assertion in their endeavors. This placement suggests a journey of self-discovery through taking bold initiatives and embracing new challenges. Meanwhile, someone with the North Node in the 7th house may find their growth path intertwined with themes of partnership, collaboration, and learning to balance their individual needs with those of others.

Exploring the lessons of the North Node often involves stepping out of our comfort zones and confronting the unknown. It invites us to embrace qualities and experiences that may initially feel unfamiliar or daunting but ultimately lead to profound personal growth.
